We want to introduce you to the dedicated volunteers who make up our Koinonia Cares team of Board Members, so we’d like you to meet The Koinonia Foundation’s Benevolence Chair Ryan Siegers.

Benevolence is not only a beautiful word to say, but it also has an altruistic definition—disposition to do good; an act of kindness or a generous gift.

Since 1990, Koinonia has provided local families with one-time emergency financial assistance for life sustaining needs like food, utilities, and rent. Instead of giving money to individuals, the organization makes a direct payment to the service provider. Additionally, the foundation awards strategic grants each year to like-minded organizations that serve under-resourced families in our area.

Ryan Siegers has served on Koinonia’s Board as the Benevolence Chair since 2019 and is the volunteer responsible for receiving and processing benevolence requests from individuals.

In addition to his volunteer work with Koinonia, Ryan has served others in ministry for nearly 20 years working as a pastor. He and his family moved from Ingleside, IL  to Wake Forest, N.C. in 2016 for his role as the Wake Forest Campus Pastor at Crossroads Fellowship Church.

“I love pastoring, leading, coaching, and partnering with other organizations and leaders to make a difference in our community,” says Ryan. “I’m blessed to help meet the needs of my fellow community members in my job as a pastor and as a member of the Koinonia Board.”

When not working or volunteering, Ryan enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife Cari and their three children—Addi, Keagan and Judah. (see the family photo included with this article).

He is also a self-proclaimed “gearhead” who loves cars and motorcycles. You can find him riding his dual-sport motorcycle or around town in his old Jeep.
