Annual Fundraiser Benefits Neighbors in Need
The Koinonia Foundation of Wake Forest will host its annual Koinonia Cares Charity Auction online via Zoom instead of in person, on Saturday, March 12, 2022, 6 p.m.

The virtual auction is free and open to the public. Participants are required to register for the auction at https://bit.ly/3BBNvSO and will immediately receive a Zoom login link to use on March 12 when they join by smart device or an internet-connected computer.

“We’re offering a virtual auction experience with a secure and easy-to-use bidding experience. All bids will be taken during the live auction using the Zoom chat feature. Payments will be accepted through PayPal using any credit card,” explained Koinonia Board Member Ryan Siegers, serving as emcee for the event.

The new online auction format is in response to continued concerns about COVID variants. Proceeds from the virtual auction will go toward Koinonia’s emergency benevolence fund for individuals and families in Wake Forest, Rolesville and Youngsville along with annual grants for local nonprofits.

Those who login to the live auction early will view a tutorial explaining the bidding and payment process. The live auction will begin at 7 p.m. with six packages. A few include:

Weekend in Savannah –  hotel accommodations and gift cards to several restaurants and shops for your get away to Savannah, Georgia.

The Downtown Wake Forest Experience – gift cards to enjoy the best food and shopping experiences offered in this quaint but cool downtown.

The Happy Home – a package of home services that will help save time and make your home’s occupants happy.

Winning bidders will have the option to have their packages hand delivered or shipped to them.

“This annual auction is our main fundraiser and crucial to continuing the charitable work of The Koinonia Foundation. We’re proud to host our event virtually as we auction items in an interactive and engaging manner knowing that every item sold will help our neighbors in need,” said Brian Pate who serves on The Koinonia Board and will be the March 12 auctioneer.

In addition to bidding on auction packages, participants can make donations based on their generosity. General donations to Koinonia are accepted anytime at www.koinoniawf.org/donate.

Sponsorships for the event are still available. If interested, please contact Brian Pate at 919-669-4575 or visit info@koinoniawf.org.
